After two rounds at the Tangura Country Club in Japan, the UCLA women's golf team moved into first place at the Topy Cup.
The Bruins were atop the leaderboard at 580 (+4), followed by Tulsa at 585 (+9). Tied for third place were Hosei University and Doshisha University at 607 (+31). Ritsumekan University at 628 (+52) was fifth.
Sophomore Glory Yang was tied for second place at two-under par 142 after posting consecutive rounds of 71 (-1). Freshman Stephanie Kono was alone in fourth place at 144 (E) after carding scores of 74-70 and sophomore Maria Jose Uribe was tied for sixth at 147 (+3) following rounds of 74-73. Junior Sydney Michaels was tied for eighth at 148 (+4) following rounds of 75-73 and senior Ryann O'Toole was tied for 11th at 149 (+5) after carding scores of 74-75. Both Michaels and Uribe made eagles at the par 5 16th hole.
Tulsa's Marita Engzelius was the 36-hole leader at 140 (-4) after posting consecutive rounds of 70.
Final round action continues on Wednesday.
