For the second consecutive day, a Bruin diver has earned All-America honorable mention honors as senior Tess Schofield finished 10th overall in the tower competition at the 2009 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in College Station, TX.
Schofield, who had earned a spot at Nationals after winning the NCAA Zone tower crown last weekend, finished 10th overall in the console final with a score of 262.70 to earn honorable mention All-America honors. She was less then a point shy of winning the console final.
Today's 10th-place finish was the highest finish at Nationals for the senior. Schofield was 13th on tower at the 2007 NCAA Championships.
The senior ends an illustrious career at UCLA with two NCAA Zone E tower crowns, a Pac-10 title on tower and two All-America honorable mention honors on tower.
Also on Saturday, senior Madeleine Stanton finished 21st in the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:54.91. Stanton ends her career as the school record holder in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events.
Sophomore Lauren Hall competed in the 200 breaststroke, placing 41st in a time of 2:13.43.
