Senior Tauny Frattone (Lake Forest, CA/El Toro HS) of the UCLA gymnastics team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Mar. 5-11.
Frattone earned the first perfect 10 of her career, sticking a Yurchenko half on, front pike off vault for a 10.0 in the third-ranked Bruins' 197.525-196.475 win over second-ranked Oklahoma. The victory was her fourth of the season on vault to tie for the team lead, and she is averaging 9.885 on the event. Her 10.0 led the Bruins to a team score of 49.5 on vault, marking the fourth time this year UCLA has totaled 49.5 or higher on the event. Frattone, who had scored 9.95 on vault on seven previous occasions, becomes the 22nd member of UCLA's 10.0 club and the 13th on vault.
This is Frattone's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
