The sixth-ranked UCLA sand volleyball team faces its toughest test of the season, taking on the top two ranked teams in the nation on Wednesday. The Bruins will face #2 Long Beach State at 1 p.m. and #1 Pepperdine at 2 p.m. at Malibu's Zuma Beach.
All five matches will be played at once, with no exhibition contests. Admission is free. The Zuma Beach courts are located just west of Point Dume, near Tower 2 or at the 29800 block of the Pacific Coast Highway.
The Bruins (2-3) are coming off a 4-1 victory over Loyola Marymount last Wednesday in Santa Monica, their second win of the season versus the Lions. UCLA has lost to #3 Florida State, #4 USC and co-#6 Nebraska.
The 49ers are 11-1 this season and were the national runners-up last year, falling to Pepperdine in the AVCA title match. The Waves are 12-0 on the year and have never lost a dual match.
