The UCLA swimming and diving team has announced the 2009-2010 competition schedule, which features five meets in the new state-of-the-art Spieker Aquatic Center.
UCLA swimming will open up the season at Santa Barbara as they take on UCSB and Oregon State October 24. The divers will open up their season at the Trojan Invitational November 6-7. The teams will join together and head to Arizona for duals against ASU on November 13 and Arizona on November 14.
Several invitational meets are on the schedule for the dive squad including a trip to either the Purdue or Tennessee Invites November 19-21, followed by the Texas Invite December 3-5.
The swimmers will compete at the UC Irvine Nike Cup November 19-21, followed by the USA Short Course National Championships and Short Course World Trials in Federal Way, WA December 3-5.
The Bruins will be on the road until January when they open up competition in the newly built Spieker Aquatic Center. They will host Kansas and Fresno State on January 8, Stanford on January 29, California on January 30 and USC on February 12, along with the Bruin Diving Invitational January 6-7 at the new facility.
Post-season begins February 24-27 with the Pac-10 Championships, which will be held at the Belmont Pool in Long Beach. The divers will compete at the NCAA Zone E Championships in Houston, TX March 11-13. The NCAA Championships, this year in West Lafayette, IN, will be held March 18-20.
