• No. 15/16 UCLA (19-4, 10-2 Pac-12) hosts key games this week with No. 6 California (21-2, 11-1) on Feb. 15 and No. 4 Stanford (22-2, 11-1) on Feb. 17. The Bruins will tip-off at 6:02 p.m. with the Golden Bears on the Pac-12 Networks. The UCLA/Stanford contest will tip-off at 12:35 p.m. and will be aired live on ESPNU.

• After posting two road wins last week at Washington (65-61) and Washington State (80-65), the UCLA Bruins moved up two spots to No. 15 in the AP Top 25 Poll and one spot to No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. UCLA moved up three spots to No. 12 in the NCAA Women's Basketball RPI ( The Bruins have been ranked at least one week in both polls in each of the past four seasons.

• This is the 63rd meeting between UCLA and California with the Bruins dominating the series 46-16. The two teams split a pair of meetings last year, each team winning on its home floor. The Bruins have won seven of the last nine against the Golden Bears with Cal winning the last two meetings. Earlier this season, No. 7 California posted a 70-65, in Berkeley, Calif., on Jan. 20, 2013. Layshia Clarendon scored 22 points to help beat No. 14 UCLA. Talia Caldwell added 14 points and 11 rebounds while Gennifer Brandon also had a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards for the Golden Bears. UCLA was within 54-50 late in the second half when Clarendon made a 3-pointer. She later stole an inbounds pass as part of a 10-2 run then made four free throws in the final 54 seconds left to seal the win. Thea Lemberger scored 15 points for the Bruins. Freshman guard Thea Lemberger had a career-high 26 points and junior Markel Walker added 18. The Bruins set a single-game UCLA mark with 13 blocks, including a school-record seven from Corinne Costa. Gennifer Brandon paced the Golden Bears with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Layshia Clarendon added 12 and Lindsay Sherbert posted 10, as Cal shot 29.7% from the floor for the contest and had 21 turnovers.

UCLA will promote breast cancer awareness all weekend, with Friday being the premier event. In addition to pink giveaways and activities, fans will be able to purchase $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win one of three premium gift baskets. UCLA is third in the Pac-12 in scoring (69.9 ppg) and is third in the Pac-12 and 15th in the country in rebounding margin (+8.7). The Bruins lead the Pac-12 and rank 22nd in the nation in assists (16.3) and also leads the league in steals (11.3), which ranks 31st nationally. UCLA is also second in the Pac-12 in rebounds per game (44.5) and second in offensive rebounds per game (16.5).

The UCLA Bruins improved to 3-0 under Head Coach Cori Close in overtime games in her two seasons with last week's 53-52 win in overtime at St. John's (Dec. 16). Last season, the Bruins posted back-to-back overtime wins at Colorado (62-54 on Jan. 29, 2012) and at home versus Washington (79-73 on Feb. 2, 2012).

Alyssia Brewer has seven double-doubles in her first 22 games, which ranks fifth in the Pac-12. Markel Walker has five double-doubles this season, which ranks eighth in the Pac-12. Additionally, the two Bruins have had double-doubles in the same game three times this season. Walker had 17 points and 10 rebounds in the 86-66 win over Loyola Marymount (Dec. 2) while Brewer had 14 points and 11 rebounds against the Lions. Walker later had 15 points and 12 rebounds in the 76-62 win over Saint Mary's (Dec. 15) as Brewer chipped in 12 points and 10 boards against the Gaels. In the loss to Cal State Northridge (Dec. 20), Brewer had 14 points and 12 rebounds with Walker adding 12 points and 12 boards.

Only three of the 13 Bruins have played in all 23 games this season and nobody has started in more than 20 contests, forcing Head Coach Thea Lemberger missed the Notre Dame (Nov. 23) and Princeton (Nov. 25) games due to a knee sprain. Thea Lemberger, Alyssia Brewer for a total of 67:08.
