The UCLA women's basketball team will embark on a summer tour of Italy, playing four exhibition games during its Aug. 18-27 tour.
The Bruins will begin their journey in Rome, where they will play the Dutch National Team on Aug. 20 and 21. The team will then move on to Venice, after a brief stop in Florence. UCLA will face Italian club team Udine on Aug. 24 and then will take on the Nigerian National Team in the Lake Como region on Aug. 25.

UCLA finished the 2010-11 season with a 28-5 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins return three starters in senior forward Jasmine Dixon (12.1 ppg, 7.3 rpg), junior forward Markel Walker (8.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and junior forward Atonye Nyingifa (8.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg). Also returning is senior guard Rebekah Gardner (7.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg). Joining the squad as freshmen are forward Kacy Swain, and guards Moriah Faulk and Alexis Perry.
First-year head coach Cori Close and the Bruins begin the 2011-12 season on Nov. 11 with a home game against McNeese State in the first round of the preseason NIT.
