The UCLA men's track and field team will host No. 7 Texas on Saturday in a scored dual meet in Drake Stadium as the Bruins begin their home meet schedule.
Last year, the Bruins traveled to Austin to face off with the Longhorns and Arkansas in a scored triangular meet, with UCLA finishing second to Texas by just four points. Saturday's meet will be a traditionally scored dual meet with relays being scored 5-0 and all other events being score 5-3-1.
The men's squad ended the 2011 season with an undefeated dual meet schedule overall and at home. They defeated Tennessee and tied with Oregon in Drake Stadium and then defeated USC on their home turf. This year's home schedule features a double dual with Tennessee and Washington State on Mar. 31, the annual Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invite Apr. 12-14 and then versus rival USC on Apr. 29.
Field events begin at 11:30 am with the hammer, while running events begin at 1:05 pm with the steeplechase. Live stats will also be available during the meet here.
