UCLA Begins Fall Practice, Ranked Seventh in Pac-10 Preseason Poll

UCLABruins.com's Ralph Irvin catches up with head women's volleyball coach Mike Sealy as the Bruins begin their first week of training camp.

In other news on Thursday, the Bruins were ranked seventh in the Pac-10 Coaches Preseason poll. UCLA received 37 points, falling just two points behind Oregon for sixth. Stanford earned six first-place votes and 77 points to edge USC for first. The Trojans posted two first-place votes and 76 points. Washington received the other two first-place nods and 72 points to finish third. Rounding out the list were Arizona in fourth (52 points), California in fifth (48), Oregon in sixth (39), UCLA in seventh (37), Arizona State in eighth (22), Washington State in ninth (17) and Oregon State in 10th (10).

The Bruins open up the 2010 season in Honolulu at the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational. UCLA starts things off against Kansas State on Friday, Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. PT/5 p.m. HT. All three matches in Hawaii will be broadcast live on UCLABruins.com.
