LOS ANGELES - Senior Tabi Love had a double-double with 21 kills and 11 digs, senior Rachael Kidder added 14 kills, junior Kelly Reeves posted eight kills and seven digs and freshman Becca Strehlow set the fifth-ranked Bruins to a season-best hitting percentage of .537 in a sweep of California on Thursday at the John Wooden Center. Set scores were 25-16, 25-22, 25-18.

The Bruins improve to 21-5 overall and 13-4 in Pac-12 play, while the Golden Bears fall to 14-13 and 8-9 in league action.

Love recorded a .606 hitting percentage, committing only one error in 33 attempts. Her 11 digs equaled a season best and marked her second double-double of the year. Kidder hit .370, while Reeves had an .800 hitting percentage with no errors in 10 swings. Strehlow tallied 49 assists and five digs.

Sophomore Zoë Nightingale had six kills and only one error in 10 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage, senior Bojana Todorovic added six digs and junior Meg Norton posted five digs.

The Bruins never trailed in taking the opening set. Leading 3-2, UCLA scored three straight on a Nightingale kill and back-to-back kills by Love to go up by four. Still up 7-4, a 4-1 run brought the Bruins' lead to six at 11-5. Kidder had two kills during the run, junior Mariana Aquino and Reeves teamed up for a block and Cal committed an attack error.

UCLA's lead remained between five and nine for the rest of the set. On the Bruins' second set point, a Love kill completed a 25-16 victory. Eighteen of UCLA's 20 kills came from Kidder, Love and Reeves. Reeves was a perfect 6-for-6, while Love had six kills and no errors in seven attempts. The Bruins out-hit the Bears .548 to .320.

Cal's biggest lead of set two was four, while UCLA's largest advantage was three. Cal led 8-5, but a 3-0 UCLA run on kills by Aquino and Love and a Bear attack error evened the score. However, the Golden Bears came back with four straight to take a 12-8 edge. With the score 13-10, the Bruins netted a 6-1 run to take their first lead of the set. Back-to-back kills by Nightingale and a Love kill tied the score at 13. Following a Cal sideout, another Love kill, a Kidder kill and a Nightingale/Strehlow combo block made it 16-14 UCLA.

Despite ties at 17- and 18-all, the Bruins never lost the lead for the rest of the set. At 18-18, an Aquino kill, an Aquino/Love combo block and a Love kill put the Bruins up by three. The teams sided out the last eight points of the set, as a Kidder kill finished off a 25-22 victory. Love had eight kills and five digs in the second, Kidder added four kills and Nightingale posted three. The Bruins out-hit the Golden Bears .514 to .350.

UCLA led wire-to-wire in the third to finish off the sweep. Leading 6-5, the Bruins scored three straight on a kill by Love, a combination dig-kill from Todorovic and a Cal attack error to make it 9-5. Still up by three at 11-8, the Bruins scored six straight to break it open. Kills by sophomore Karsta Lowe, Love and Nightingale made it 14-8, which was followed by another Love kill, a Nightingale/Strehlow combo block and a Nightingale kill to make it a 17-8 score.

The Bruins' lead got to double digits for the first and only time at 20-10 after a Kidder kill. On UCLA's fourth match point, a Lowe kill concluded a 25-18 win. Love had seven kills and no errors in nine attempts in the third, Kidder added four kills and Lowe posted three, as the Bruins out-hit the Bears .552 to .299.
