Results

The UCLA swimming and diving team suffered its first dual meet loss of the season on Saturday as Arizona defeated the Bruins 176-123 in Tucson. The Bruins are now 3-1 (2-1 Pac-10) on the season.

Junior Karina Silva led the Bruin divers as she placed second on both 1M (247.80) and 3M (257.85). Freshman Michelle Vale was third on both boards with a score of 243.53 on 1M and 252.23 on 3M.

In swimming events, junior Sam Vanden Berge was third in the 1000 free (10:19.28) and fourth in the 500 free (5:02.07). Senior Isabell Fischer placed second in the 100 back (1:02.92) and fourth in the 200 back (2:02.38).

Junior Brittany Beauchan was second in the 100 breast (1:02.92) and 200 breast (2:17.24). In the fly events, sophomore Yasi Jahanshahi was second in both the 200 fly (2:00.48) and 100 fly (56.72).

Freshman Laurence Delisle touched second in the 200 back (2:00.62) and was first in the 200 IM (2:04.06).

The Bruins swimmers will next head to Long Beach for the Belmont Cup (11/19-21), while the divers will be off from competition until the Texas Invitational in early December.
