LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's water polo team has secured the No. 3 seed in the eight-team NCAA Tournament and will face No. 6-seed Indiana (25-11) in the first round on Friday, May 13 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.

UCLA has earned its seventh consecutive berth to the NCAA Tournament, advancing as the tournament's No. 3 seed for the third consecutive season. The Bruins will face Indiana at 1:30 p.m. (PT) on Friday, May 13. UCLA posted a 9-4 victory over the Hoosiers on Feb. 6 at the Stanford Invitational.

The Bruins (24-6) finished second at the MPSF Tournament on Sunday, dropping a 7-6 decision to California in the championship match. UCLA defeated USC on Friday, 12-10, before handing top-seeded Stanford its first loss of the season (9-8) on Saturday at San Jose State.

UCLA will make its 10th appearance in the 11-year history of the NCAA Championships. In the 17-year history of UCLA's program, the Bruins have won 11 national titles (seven NCAA) and have advanced to the national tournament in 16 seasons (including 2011).

In nine NCAA Tournament appearances, the Bruins have won seven NCAA Championships, compiling a 22-2 cumulative record. UCLA has posted a combined 45-5 record in 15 trips to the annual national tournament.

The tournament's No. 1 seed was awarded to Stanford (25-1), which finished third at the MPSF Tournament after capturing the MPSF's regular-season crown. No. 1-seed Stanford will face either Iona or Redlands in first-round action.

The winner of the UCLA-Indiana match will face either No. 2-seed California (24-4) or No. 7-seed UC San Diego (17-18) in a semifinal contest on Saturday, May 14.
