The No. 1 ranked UCLA women's golf team won the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Wednesday by 20 shots at the Kapolei Golf Course on O'ahu.
For the Bruins the victory represented their third title in four starts, and the 43rd career tournament crown for coach Carrie Forsyth.
The Bruins posted a team score of 283 (-5) -- the best score of the day -- and compiled a 54-hole total of 849 (-15), 20 shots better than second place Washington (869, +5). Stanford was third at 883 (+19), followed by Florida International at 892 (+28) and fifth-place San Jose State at 904 (+40).
Individually for the Bruins, junior Lee Lopez captured her second collegiate victory with three-round total of 209 (-7) after posting a final round score of 70 (-2). Hawaii native Stephanie Kono took second place at 213 (-3) following her third round of 69 (-3). Tied for fifth place was junior Tiffany Lua at 215 (-1) following a final round of even par 72 and tied for eighth place at 217 (+1) after posting a 75 (+3) was senior Brianna Do. Sophomore Ani Gulugian finished 10th at 218 (+2) after carding a 72 (E). Freshman Kyle Roig, playing as an individual, placed 11th at 219 (+3). She posted a 72 (E) in the last round.
