UCLA's Ben Hohl Earns Capital One Academic All-District Honors

LOS ANGELES - UCLA senior men's water polo standout Ben Hohl has earned Capital One Academic All-District second-team honors, as announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Hohl also earned Academic All-District honors (ESPN the Magazine) as a junior in 2009. In addition, he secured ACWPC All-America honors as a junior (2009) and senior (2010) at UCLA and captured MPSF All-Academic Team and ACWPC All-Academic acclaim his final three seasons.

Hohl has compiled a 3.63 grade point average in four years as a business economics major. The resident of Atherton, Calif., is on track to graduate from UCLA in 2011.

Recently named to the USA Men's Water Polo Senior National Team roster, Hohl scored one goal in an 8-5 8-5 victory over Canada at the 2011 FINA World League Prelims at Costa Mesa High School.

In four seasons at UCLA, Hohl totaled 142 goals, tied for seventh on the school's all-time goals list with Chris Kellerman. He helped lead the Bruins as the runner-up at the 2009 NCAA Tournament, one week after guiding UCLA to the 2009 MPSF Tournament Championship.
