Series Records
UCLA takes a 19-match unbeaten streak against San Diego into Friday's contest. The Bruins lead the series 15-1-4, with their only loss coming in the first-ever meeting between the two teams back in 1993. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in San Diego last season. Santa Clara leads the all-time series with UCLA, 5-3-2. Sunday will mark the first meeting between the two teams since 2008 (0-0 draw in Santa Clara).

Bruins Go 1-1 in Colorado
UCLA started last weekend strong, posting a 4-2 victory over Denver in the opening match of the Omni Hotels Soccer Classic at the University of Colorado. Sydney Leroux, Amelia Mathis, Ahsha Smith and Chelsea Cline all scored goals for the Bruins in that match. UCLA owned a 4-0 lead before Denver scored twice in the second half. The Bruins had a tougher time with host Colorado on Sunday, surrendering a golden goal with just over two minutes to play in overtime to lose that match 1-0. Leroux paced the Bruins with a game-high six shots on the day.

Bruins Without Leroux This Week
Junior forward Sydney Leroux will not be available to suit up for the Bruins this weekend as she has been invited to take part in her first-ever training camp with the U.S. Women's National Team. U.S. coach Pia Sundhage has brought in 29 players to take part in the camp which began on Monday in Kennesaw, Ga. The training camp is in preparation for two upcoming matches against China on Oct. 2 (Kennesaw, Ga.) and Oct. 6 (Chester, Pa.). Depending on how she does in Georgia, Leroux could also miss UCLA's match with Pepperdine on Oct. 1.

Bruins Check in at No. 11
UCLA checks in at No. 11 in the latest Soccer America Rankings issued on Monday. The Bruins, who were ranked No. 10 last week, fell just one spot after going 1-1 in Colorado. UCLA fell from No. 12 to No. 15 in the latest NSCAA/ National Rankings released on Tuesday. The Bruins are also ranked No. 14 by and No. 16 by Top Drawer Soccer.

Cardinal to Visit Drake in Two Weeks
UCLA will host arguably its biggest match of the year in two weeks, as No. 2 Stanford visits Drake Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1:00 p.m. The Bruins lead the all-time series, 9-6-2, however the Cardinal have won the last two meetings, including a 2-1 overtime win in last year's NCAA College Cup Semifinals, The match features the Pac-10's two most successful programs, as the last nine conference championships have been won by either UCLA or Stanford.
