UCLA in the NBA - November Update

As the first month of the 2012-13 NBA season comes to a completion, the leaders among UCLA's 11 alumni players in the league entering the weekend of Dec. 1-2 have been Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook and Philadelphia 76ers guard Jrue Holiday.

Love, who missed most of the first month of the season after suffering a broken right shooting hand in a pre-practice workout on Oct. 17, is sixth in the league in scoring (23.0ppg) and leads in rebounding (15.6ppg).

Westbrook is eighth in the NBA in scoring (20.7ppg) and sixth in assists (8.6apg) and Holiday is 16th in scoring (18.5ppg) and third in assists (9.1apg).

Updates on Bruin players who have had lengthy NBA careers include - Baron Davis, at the end of last season with the New York Knicks in his 13th NBA season, suffered a serious right knee injury that required surgery and extensive rehabilitation and remains on the Knicks inactive list; Jordan Farmar, following a six-year NBA career, is currently playing for Anadolu Efes of the Turkish Basketball League; and Jason Kapono, who last year was in his ninth NBA season will begin play in December with Athens Panathinaikos B.C., which plays in the Euroleague and Greek Basket League.

Here is the alphabetical list of UCLA's current alumni players on NBA rosters with updates on their season through Nov. 30:

Arron Afflalo, G, Orlando Magic - in his sixth NBA season and first with Orlando, has started all 14 games and leads the Magic in points (15.4ppg) and minutes played (34.1mpg) and is averaging 3.9rpg and 2.5apg. He has scored in double figures 12 times, with a season-high 28 points vs. Chicago on Nov. 6. Orlando is currently in fourth-place (5-9) in the Eastern Conference Southeast Division.

Trevor Ariza, F, Washington Wizards - in his ninth NBA season and first with Washington, has started 11 of 13 games and is the Wizards No. 7 scorer (8.3ppg), No. 3 rounder (5.20rpg) and his 1.85 steals per game is No. 17 in the NBA. On Nov. 21 vs. Atlanta, he recorded a double-double, 12 points and 15 rebounds. Washington is in last place (1-12) in the Eastern Conference Southeast Division.

Matt Barnes, F, Los Angeles Clippers - in his 10th NBA season and in his second stint with the Clippers, has appeared in 14 games for the Clippers (started once) and is the team's No. 3 rebounder (5.60rpg) and is averaging 25.6 minutes a game, 8.1ppg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg. In mid-Nov. he had a stretch of three games when he averaged 15.3ppg and 8.0rpg a contest. The Clippers are tied for first-place (9-6 with Golden State) in the Western Conference Pacific Division.

Darren Collison G, Dallas Mavericks - in his fourth NBA season and first with Dallas, has started 14 of 15 games for Dallas but recently suffered a sprained right middle finger. Collison leads Dallas in assists (6.3apg, No. 18 in the NBA), second in minutes played (32.7mpg) and fourth in scoring (12.9ppg) with a 1.47 steals per game average. In his first two games this season, he recorded 18 points and 10 assists on Nov. 3 vs. Chicago and 14 points and 13 assists on Nov. 5 vs. Portland. Dallas is currently in fourth-place (7-9) in the Western Conference Southwest Division.

Jrue Holiday, G, Philadelphia 76ers - in his fourth NBA season, all with the Sixers, Holiday has started all 15 games and leads the 76ers in minutes played (38.5mpg), points (18.5ppg) and assists (9.1apg), with a 1.47 steals per game average. On Nov. 25 vs. Phoenix, he scored a career-high 33 points. He has scored in double figures in 14 of 15 games with double figure assists in six contests. Philadelphia is in third-place (9-6) in the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division.

Ryan Hollins, C, Los Angeles Clippers - in his seventh NBA season, he has come off the bench in all 15 games for the Clippers, averaging 13.8 minutes, 2.7ppg and 2.4rpg. The Clippers are tied for first-place (9-6 with Golden State) in the Western Conference Pacific Division.

Malcolm Lee, G, Minnesota Timberwolves - in his second NBA season with Minnesota, Lee has started eight of 12 games and is averaging 18.0 minutes, 4.7ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.3apg. The Timberwolves are in fourth-place (6-8) in the Western Conference Northwest Division.

Kevin Love, F, Minnesota Timberwolves - in his fifth NBA season with Minnesota, Love has started the last five games (with five double-doubles) and leads the Timberwolves in minutes (36.8mpg), points (23.0ppg) and rebounds (15.6rpg). On Nov. 27 vs. Sacramento, Love recorded an NBA high 24 rebounds, with 23 points.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, F, Milwaukee Bucks - in his fifth NBA season, all with Milwaukee, Mbah a Moute has not played in a game because of off-season right knee surgery and is still currently undergoing rehabilitation. Milwaukee is in first-place (7-6) in the Eastern Conference Central Division.

Earl Watson, G, Utah Jazz - in his 12th NBA season and third with Utah, Watson, who had right knee surgery at the end of last season that required surgery, has played in four games, averaging 14.0 minutes, 2.8ppg, 1.3rpg, 4.0apg and 1.5spg. The Jazz are in second-place (9-7) in the Western Conference Northwest Division.

Russell Westbrook, G, Oklahoma City Thunder - in his fifth NBA season, all with Oklahoma City, Westbrook has started all 16 games for the Thunder and is second in minutes played (35.9mpg), scoring (20.7ppg) and steals (1.69spg), and the team leader in assists (8.60apg). He has scored in double figures every contest and on Nov. 12 recorded a season-best 33 points vs. Detroit. Oklahoma City is in first-place (12-4) in the Western Conference Northwest Division.
