For the second straight year, the Bruin swimmers broke the school record in the 800 free relay on the opening night of the Pac-10 Championships. Competing in Federal Way, WA, the Bruin foursome of Lauren Hall, Alex Sullivan, Ting Quah and Laurence Delisle broke the school record by swimming 7:08.09 (previous record, 7:09.60 set at the 2010 Pac-10 meet). The relay finished fifth overall, picking up 50 points toward their team total.

The 200 medley relay team of Anna Senko, Brittany Beauchan, Stephanie Christofferson and Cynthia Fascella finished fourth overall with a season-best time of 1:40.26. That mark is also an improved NCAA "B" cut time.

Competition continues on Thursday in Federal Way with the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, one-meter diving and 200 free relay. Prelims begin at 11:00 am with finals beginning at 6:00 pm.
