Junior guard Mustafa Abdul-Hamid is out for the remainder of the season after having surgery on Dec. 23 to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist. Malcolm Lee sprained his left ankle early in practice on Tuesday (March 3), missing the remainder of practice. He practiced on Wednesday and played in five minutes of the Oregon State win (March 5).

This is the 106th meeting between UCLA and Oregon with the Bruins leading the series 80-25 (.762). The Bruins have won the last four meetings, including an 83-74 win earlier this year in Eugene, Ore. (Jan. 4). The Bruins led 40-29 at halftime and were led by Darren Collison's 22 points and nine assists. Josh Shipp added 17 points while Nikola Dragović and Alfred Aboya each scored 12 points apiece for UCLA. Tajuan Porter scored a game-high 24 points for Oregon. Joevan Catron added 13 points while LeKendric Longmire chipped in 10 points for Oregon. Head Coach Ben Howland is 9-2 against the Ducks.

UCLA moved up two spots to No. 17 this week in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll and two spots to No. 20 in the Associated Press poll, released on Mar. 2. UCLA has been ranked in the top 25 in the AP poll for 73 straight weeks (since the 2005-06 preseason) and in the Coaches Poll for 75 straight weeks (since 2004-05 final poll), which is the longest streak in the nation.

Ben Howland earned his 300th victory of his career with the 72-54 win over DePaul in the 15th Annual John R. Wooden Classic (Dec. 13, 2008). He is currently 317-151 (.677), which ranks 25th on the winningest active coaches list by percentage and 68th on the active list by victories. Howland's first career victory was his first game at Northern Arizona in 1994, a 71-69 victory over New Mexico Highlands. His 100th career victory came in his second season at Pittsburgh with the 77-65 win at home over Seton Hall (Jan. 13, 2001). His 200th win came in his third season at UCLA with the 56-37 home win over Delaware State (Nov. 19, 2005).

Seniors Alfred Aboya and Darren Collison set the UCLA record for most games played in a career with 131 (now at 137) in the loss at Arizona State (Feb. 12). The Bruin pair passed Mitchell Butler, who played in 130 games from 1990-93. Aboya and Collison are 120-24 (.833) in their four years at UCLA. Aboya leads all Bruins with 115 career victories.
