UCLA's Lorenzo Mata to have Surgery

Oct. 11, 2006

LOS ANGELES - UCLA junior center Lorenzo Mata will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee (medial meniscus) on Oct. 12, 2006 at the UCLA Medical Center outpatient surgery facility, performed by UCLA team physician Dr. Gerald Finerman.

This week, Mata has been having pain and swelling in his right knee and an MRI performed earlier in the week was inconclusive. It is anticipated that Mata will be out for 3-6 weeks. A small tear of Mata's right medial meniscus was removed on June 16, 2006.
