The UCLA men's golf team posted one of its best single round team scores of the season Tuesday to finish second at the National Invitational Tournament, hosted by Omni Tucson National.

The Bruins torched the par 72, 7,200-yard course for a 12-under par score of 276 and finished eight shots back of Arizona State, which fired a 14-under par score of 274 on Tuesday. The Sun Devils' three-round total of 840 was 24-under par and the Bruins' 54-hole score of 848 was 16-under. Host Arizona and Tulsa tied for third at 852 (-12), followed by fifth-place Texas A&M at 855 (-9).

Junior Kevin Chappell took top honors for the Bruins, tying for seventh place at four-under par 212. Ironically, Chappell's final round score of 73 (+1) was thrown out of the team score because it was the highest of the five UCLA individual scores in the final round.

The remaining Bruins -- James Lee, Craig Leslie, Lucas Lee and Jason Kang -- combined for UCLA's final total of 276 (-12). James Lee fired a 68 (-4) and tied for 27th at 217 (+1). Leslie and Lucas Lee each posted three-under par scores of 69. Leslie tied for 11th place at 213 (-3) and Lee tied for 23rd at 216 (E). Freshman Jason Kang carded a two-under par 70 and tied for 16th place at 215 (-1).

ASU's Niklas Lemke won medalist honors with a final round 67 (-5) for a 54-hole score of 207 (-9).
