In honor of the Pac-10's 25th anniversary of women's sports, the conference caught up with former Bruin great Liz Masakayan.

In 1997 in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of UCLA women's volleyball, Masakayan was named one of the Greatest 25 Players in UCLA History. A four-year letterwinner from 1982-85, Masakayan helped the Bruins to an NCAA Championship in 1984 as a player and also guided UCLA to a national title as an assistant coach in 1991.

A three-time All-American (1983-85), she was the winner of the Honda Award, given to the top player in her sport for 1984. Masakayan is first in UCLA history in aces (259), third in kills (2,044) and ninth in digs (1,142). Her #21 uniform was retired and she was inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame in 1996.

After her days in Westwood, Masakayan was a member of the USA Indoor National Team, earning a nod on the roster at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. She was a member of the USA National Team from 1986 to 1990.
