Los Angeles, Calif. - The UCLA women's rowing program will open its spring season on Saturday morning against Loyola Marymount in Marina del Rey, Calif. Following the morning races, UCLA will host a social on campus for its student-athletes, alumnae and their families.
UCLA finished No. 12 nationally at the NCAA Championships in 2010 and is looking to return to the NCAA Championships for the second time in three seasons this year. The Bruins will race two varsity eight crews and a novice eight crew against the LMU second varsity eight to begin the event. Then the two teams will have their varsity eights and varsity fours square off before the Bruins' cap off the event by rowing their open four against their novice four.
A year ago, the Bruins kicked off their spring schedule with victories in each race over Loyola Marymount in the season opener.
