Future Bruin Tennis Players to Face Off in USTA Final

LOS ANGELES - Future UCLA men's tennis players Daniel Kosakowski and Clay Thompson are scheduled to meet in the finals of one of the nation's biggest junior tournaments on Sunday, as both players posted semifinal wins on Saturday at the USTA International Spring Championships at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Kosakowski, who knocked off top-seeded Raymond Sarmiento in the quarterfinals, pulled off another upset on Saturday, defeating sixth-seeded Nick Chappell 6-3, 6-3. Thompson, who is looking to capture his second straight title after winning last week's USTA Claremont ITF singles championship, advanced to Sunday's final with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Daniel McCall.

Both Thompson and Kosakowski signed letters of intent to join the Bruins in the fall. They will meet tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. Admission if free. For more information, please visit the International Spring Championships Website.
