UCLA NOTES

*UCLA's Terrence Austin recorded 76 all-purpose yards today to set a new school single-season record of 1,878. The previous record-holder was Maurice Jones Drew with 1,863 in 2005. Austin also moved past Kevin Jordan into 22nd on the career all-purpose yardage list with 2,607.

*Dominique Johnson's 21-yard touchdown pass to Kahlil Bell in the first quarter was the first touchdown toss by a UCLA receiver since Brandon Breazell threw a 29-yard TD pass to Johnson on Oct. 20, 2007 in a 30-21 win over California. It was also UCLA's longest offensive touchdown play of the season. Johnson has been involved in UCLA's last two touchdowns against USC; he also had a nine-yard touchdown reception in the 2007 contest.

*With 11 completions in the game, UCLA quarterback Kevin Craft finished the season with 232, moving past Troy Aikman (228 in 1988) into second place on UCLA's single-season list for pass completions.

*Kahlil Bell rushed for 39 yards, moving into 20th on UCLA's career rushing list with 1,741 career yards. He passes Mel Farr, Sr., who had 1,716 net yards from 1964-66.

*Today's attendance was 87,790, marking the 15th consecutive home game in which UCLA has drawn over 60,000 fans and the highest total since the 2006 USC game (90,622).

USC NOTES

With today's win, USC earns its 33rd berth into the Rose Bowl and fourth in a row (unless it somehow moves into the BCS title game) ... USC also extends its NCAA record streaks of 11-wins seasons and BCS bowl berths to seven.

USC improves to 43-28-7 against UCLA and has won nine of the last 10 meetings ... Pete Carroll is now 7-1 against UCLA. Carroll improves to 86-15 (85.3%) in seven-plus years as head coach and remains the winningest active coach (by percentage) with at least five years as a Division 1A/FBS head coach ... USC has now won nine games in row.

OFFENSIVE NOTES

USC QB Mark Sanchez has now thrown at least one TD in all 15 of his career starts and at least two TDs in 12 starts ... His two TDs today give him 30 for the season and 37 for his career. The 30 TDs in 2008 marks the fourth-most in a season by a USC QB. Matt Leinart threw for 38 TDs in 2003 and 33 TDs in 2004. Carson Palmer also threw for 33 TDs in 2002.

USC So. TB Joe McKnight's 1st-quarter 12-yard TD run was his second rushing TD of the season. USC So. WR Damian Williams' 1st-quarter 12-yard TD reception was his eighth this season and the third game in a row he's had one (he's had at least one TD in seven games this year).

USC Jr. TB Stafon Johnson's 2nd-quarter 2-yard TD run is his team-high ninth.

USC Sr. WR Patrick Turner's 3rd-quarter 18-yard TD reception is his team-best 10th receiving score.

USC's 28-point response to UCLA's opening TD marked the 10th time this season USC has scored at least 20 unanswered points. USC did it eight times in 2007, five times in 2006, 13 times in 2005, 12 times in 2004 and 11 times in 2003 and 2003.

DEFENSIVE NOTES

USC finishes the regular season having allowed 93 points in 12 games (7.75 per game). After losing to Oregon State in game three, USC has allowed only 56 points in its last nine games (6.22 per game). USC has allowed only 22 points in the second half all season.

UCLA's 1st-quarter TD was just the fourth passing touchdown USC has allowed this year and only the 11th TD allowed all season.

For the seventh time this season, Troy's top-ranked defense held an opponent to less than 200 total yards. USC also held an opponent to less than 100 yards rushing for the ninth time this year.

USC finishes the regular season having given up no more than 179 passing yards in any game (that was to Oregon).
