Los Angeles, Calif. - Sophomore midfielder Kelyn Rowe has been named to Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week for the week of Oct. 3-9 as announced by the publication today.
The Federal Way, Wash. native scored two goals over the weekend as he helped lead the Bruins to two conference victories over Washington and Oregon State. On Friday against the Huskies, Rowe scored the first goal of the game after completing a nice give-and-go with Chandler Hoffman and curling a shot past Huskie keeper Spencer Richey to give the Bruins the lead. In Sunday's match, Kelyn scored the game-tying goal in the 43rd minute to help lead UCLA to a 2-1 comeback win over Oregon State. Rowe is second on the team in goals (5) and points (15), trailing only Chandler Hoffman in both categories. He is tied with Victor Munoz for the team lead in assists with five.
With wins over Washington and Oregon State, UCLA improved to 9-3-1 on the season and 4-0 in Pac-12 play. The Bruins will face the San Diego State Aztecs on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 5:00 pm out at Drake Stadium.
