Los Alamitos, Calif. - Natalie Golda scored 10 goals and Jamie Hipp made 21 saves to help lead Team USA to its sixth-consecutive Holiday Cup championship. The U.S. National Team compiled a 6-0 tournament record, notching wins against Canada, Australia, Italy, the Netherlands, and Russia twice to take the title.
Golda scored at least once in all six tournament matches. Trailing 2-0 in the first game against Canada, Golda scored back-to-back goals to tie the contest in the second period before Team USA captured a 5-4 victory. The following day, Golda added one goal each in wins against the Netherlands and Russia. The final scores of those games were 8-3 and 9-4, respectively.
On Day 3, Golda scored two more goals and Jamie Hipp totaled seven saves in a 9-4 win over Italy. Hipp followed that performance with 11 saves in a 12-8 win over Australia to end the Round Robin portion of the tournament.
Team USA cruised to a 15-8 victory in the finals of the tournament over European Champion Russia. Golda added one goal and Hipp made three saves in the final victory. Both women were named to the 2007 World Championship roster following the event.
