Three Bruins Survive the Cut at U.S. Women's Amateur

Three UCLA golfers competing in the 107th U.S. Women's Amateur survived the 36-hole cut Tuesday at Crooked Stick GC in Carmel, Ind.

The three players -- incoming freshman Maria Jose Uribe, Tiffany Joh and Sydnee Michaels -- will advance to match play on Wednesday.

Uribe, a native of Colombia, fared the best on the second day of competition. She finished Monday's first round early Tuesday in even par 72, then she toured the course in three-under 69 for a two-round total of 139 (-3).

Joh fell back on the leader board but remained well above the cut line at 143 (-1). She posted a two-over par 74 on Tuesday after carding a 69 (-3) in the first round.

Michaels improved with a one-over par score of 73 on Tuesday for a 36-hole score of 150 (+6). The cut was expected to be at 151 (+7).
