LONG BEACH, Calif. - The sixth annual SoCal Baseball Media Day will feature 13 area college baseball programs at Long Beach State's Walter Pyramid on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The day's events, set to begin at 9:30 a.m., will be streamed live online.
Head coaches and players from the 13 southern California area baseball programs will participate in a question and answer session prior to the afternoon luncheon. This season, seven area programs are ranked among Collegiate Baseball's top-40 preseason poll.
In the collegiate setting, area teams have made 46 College World Series appearances and won 21 national championships. Head coaches and players from UCLA, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Diego State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and USC will be on hand to field questions from members of the media.

UCLA opens the 2008 season against Oklahoma on Friday, Feb. 22, at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Game time is 6 p.m.
