The third-ranked UCLA women's golf team was tied for 11th place after the second day of competition in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at Anthem Country Club in Henderson, Nev.
The Bruins, competing with just four players, posted a score of 303 (+15) in the second round for a 36-hole total of 600 (+24). Oklahoma State was leading the field at four-under par 572 after posting a score of 280 (-8) on Tuesday. Arizona State was second at 581 (+5), followed by Pepperdine and USC at 585 (+9) and Arizona at 591 (+15).
Sophomore Tiffany Joh fired a 69 (-3) to move within five shots of the leader. She was tied for sixth place at even par 144. Senior Hannah Jun was tied for 19th place at 147 (+3) after posting a score of 75 (+3). Sophomore Ryann O'Toole, who was tied for fourth at the start of the day, fell into a tie for 23rd after carding a 77 (+5) in the second round. Freshman Lalita Boonnoppornkul was tied for 82nd at 161 (+17). UCLA freshman Sydnee Michaels has not played because of a wrist injury, forcing the Bruins to count all four remaining scores.
Texas A&M's Ashley Knoll and Arizona State's Azahara Munoz were tied for the lead at five-under par 139 after 36 holes.
