The Bruin swim team had another successful competition on day two of the Nike Cup in Long Beach as Nicolette Teo and the relay teams posted wins. UCLA stands in first-place with 1025.5 points, while BYU is second with 277.5.
Madeleine Stanton, Teo, Kirsten Byers and Anna Poteete opened the night off with a win in the 200 medley relay, swimming 1:43.87. Teo also posted a win in the 100 breast, swimming to first in a time of 1:02.06. Brittany Beauchan joined Teo in the top-10 with her seventh-place swim of 1:06.02.
Chiemi Yamamoto finished third in the 400 IM in a time of 4:23.46, while Lauren Hall (4th, 4:24.54), Kristen Fischer (5th, 4:25.06), Dani Milligan (6th, 4:25.91) and Sam Vanden Berge (8th, 4:32.48) rounded out Bruin finishers in the top-10.
In the 100 fly, Byers was the sole Bruin in the top-10 as she finished seventh overall in a time of 57.55.
Emily Bibb led the way in the 200 free with her second-place showing (1:49.44, NCAA consideration). Poteete (3rd, 1:49.46) and Alex Sullivan (4th, 1:50.07) also swam NCAA consideration times in the eight-lap event, while Silke Nowotzin came in at sixth-place (1:52.20).
In the 100 back, Isabell Fischer came in at the runner-up spot with an NCAA consideration time of 55.97. Stanton (5th, 57.60), Erin Frizzell (8th, 58.31) and Carly Lyons (9th, 57.68) also finished in the top-10 in the 100 back.
The 800 free relay capped off the night with a win as the Bruins swam 7:25.99.
The Bruins will conclude competition on Saturday at the Nike Cup.
