Golfers Fall to Second after Two Rounds

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team was in second place Saturday after round two of the Pac-10 Championships, hosted at the Stanford Golf Course.

Arizona State seized control of first place Saturday with a team score of 281 (-3) to take a five-shot lead into Sunday's final round. The Sun Devils were at six-over par 574 after 36 holes. The Bruins posted a second day score of 288 (+7) and were at 579 (+11). USC was third at 583 (+15), followed by fourth place Arizona at 594 (+26) and fifth-pace Stanford at 596 (+28).

Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Maria Jose Uribe was tied for fifth place at 143 (+1) following a second round score of 73 (+1). She trailed a foursome of players tied for first at 141 (-1). Sophomore Glory Yang rose 13 spots up the leaderboard after posting a one-under par 70 on Saturday. She was eighth at 145 (+3). Freshman Stephanie Kono was tied for 12th place at 147 (+5), following a round of 75 (+4) and junior Sydnee Michaels was tied for 19th at 149 (+7) following an even par round of 71 in which she improved 14 spots. Senior Tiffany Joh was tied for 24th at 150 (+8) following Saturday's round of 77 (+6).
