Chicago, Ill. - Freshman defender Javan Torre has been selected as one of 24 players that will compete at the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team training camp in Sunrise, Fla. from Dec. 15-22.
Torre, a native of Santa Monica, Calif., played in 12 matches for the Bruins in 2012, making five starts and helping the team earn six shutouts. He previously trained with the U.S. U-20 National Team this past winter and competed for the team at the 2012 Marbella Cup in Spain earlier this fall. Torre also played for the U.S. U-18 National Team at the 2011 Milk Cup in Northern Ireland, helping the team to a third-place finish.
The U.S. U-20's will begin preparations for the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, which takes place from Feb. 18-March 3 in Puebla, Mexico. The tournament will serve as the regional qualifying tournament for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
