Tucson, Ariz. - Junior Danesha Adams broke up a scoreless tie in the 69th minute Friday evening at Arizona's Murphey Stadium, as the third-ranked UCLA women's soccer team remained perfect in the Pac-10 with a 1-0 victory over Arizona. The Bruins, who improve to 13-2 overall, are the only undefeated and untied team in the conference. Arizona falls to 8-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the Pac-10 with the loss.
Adams, who has tallied the game winner in three of UCLA's last four victories, put the Bruins on the board at the 68:53 mark of the second half on an assist from sophomore Christina DiMartino.
UCLA was able to hold Arizona scoreless for the remaining 21 minutes to pull out its seventh-straight victory. The Bruins outshot the Wildcats, 26-12 on the night. Bruin goalkeeper Valerie Henderson finished with seven saves.
The Bruins will face Arizona State this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in Tempe, Ariz.
