LOS ANGELES - Sophomore Tyler Honeycutt scored 15 points and added a team-leading 15 rebounds as the UCLA men's basketball team defeated Cal State Los Angeles, 84-59, in the Bruins' final preseason exhibition game in Pauley Pavilion on Tuesday night.

Freshman Tyler Lamb led the Bruins with 17 points, connecting on 6-of-9 shots, while sophomore Brendan Lane rounded out UCLA's double-digit scorers with 14 points.

UCLA broke the exhibition contest open midway through the first half, using a 32-4 scoring run that extended into the second half. The Bruins led 19-15 with 10:50 to play in the opening half and expanded their cushion to 32 points, leading 51-19, after Honeycutt nailed a three-pointer with 17:59 remaining in the game.

The Bruins led at halftime, 45-19, and scored the first six points of the second half. UCLA's lead swelled to as many as 36 points with 5:35 to play in the game.

Lane made the start at power forward in place of an injured Reeves Nelson (hip flexor) and led UCLA with 12 points in the first half.

The Bruins outrebounded the visiting Golden Eagles, 45-27.

UCLA opens the regular season against Cal State Northridge on Friday, Nov. 12. Game time at Pauley Pavilion is slated for 7:30 p.m.
