Senior midfielder Ryan Hollingshead (Granite Bay, CA/Granite Bay HS) of the UCLA men's soccer team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 9-15.
Hollingshead had a hand in four of UCLA's five goals this week. On Monday against Washington, Hollingshead set up the Bruins' only goal of the match by earning the second assist on Evan Raynr's goal in the 71st minute. Then on Friday, Hollingshead notched three assists as the Bruins defeated San Diego State, 4-3. His three assists were the most by a UCLA player in a single game since Adolfo Gregorio had three back in 2003. Hollingshead now leads the team and the Pac-12 with seven assists and is tied for the team lead with 13 points.
This is Hollingshead's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
