The No. 14 UCLA swim and dive team (6-1, 2-1 Pac-10) will head north for two Pac-10 meets this weekend as they face No. 1 Stanford on Friday at 1:00 pm and No. 4 California on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
Last season, the Bruins dominated the Cardinal, defeating them 180-120, but narrowly fell to Cal, 154.5-145.5.
The Bruins are led by senior Katie Nelson, who currently ranks seventh in the 1650 Free with a time of 16:26.55. Nelson has notched multiple victories this season in the long distance events, and will look to continue that feat this weekend.
The divers will be battling it out for the top spot this weekend, as three have the potential to win the 1M and 3M competitions - seniors Sara Clark and Amanda Blong, and sophomore Marisa Samaniego. All three have picked up NCAA Zone "E" qualifying marks and have posted victories throughout the season.
This will be the final tune-up meet before the annual match-up between crosstown rivals UCLA and USC, which will be contested on the campus of USC on February 3.
