UCLA leads all schools with 14 alumni in the National Basketball Association. Nine of the alums played for current head coach Ben Howland and six were selected in the first rounds of the last five NBA Drafts.
Two Bruins rank in the Top 20 in scoring, four Bruins rank in the Top 40 in assists and a Bruin leads the league in rebounds and double-doubles.
Here is a summary of each of the 14 alums in alphabetical order:
Arron Afflalo (Denver) has started all 38 of his games and is averaging 12.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He is shooting 50% from the floor, 41.8% from three-point range and 85.2% from the line.
Trevor Ariza (New Orleans) has started all 38 of his games and is averaging 10.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
Matt Barnes (Los Angeles Lakers) had played in 37 games prior to his knee injury that will keep him on the sidelines for several weeks. He is averaging 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 47.4% from the floor and 81.5% from the line.
Darren Collison (Indiana) has started all 31 of his games for the Pacers. He is averaging 13.3 points, 4.3 assists (No. 32 in the league) and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 45.1% from the floor, 37.0% from three-point range and 88.9% - No. 7 in the NBA - from the free throw line.
Baron Davis (Los Angeles Clippers) has started 14 of his 22 games. He is averaging 9.9 points and 6.8 assists. He would rank 17th in assists if he had played enough games. In his last six contests, he is averaging 13.8 points and 8.5 assists.
Jordan Farmar (New Jersey) has played in 35 games, starting five. He is averaging 9.8 points and 4.1 assists (No. 38 in the NBA). He had 20 points and 11 assists in his last game.
Dan Gadzuric (Golden State) has played in 24 games, starting four, and is averaging 3.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in just 10.7 minutes.
Jrue Holiday (Philadelphia) has started all 37 of his games. He is averaging 14.7 points, 6.7 assists (No. 18 in the NBA) and 3.8 rebounds.
Ryan Hollins (Cleveland) has played in 30 games, starting three. He is averaging 4.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13.3 minutes and is shooting 56.3% from the field.
Jason Kapono (Philadelphia) has played in just 12 games (two starts) this season and is averaging 1.2 points in 6.9 minutes.
Kevin Love (Minnesota) is leading the NBA in rebounding, grabbing 15.7 boards per contest - 2.6 rebounds more than anyone else in the league. He ranks 19th in the league in scoring (21.2 points) and is averaging 2.4 assists. Love and Blake Griffin are the only players in the NBA averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds and two assists.
He is shooting 46.3% from the field, 43.7% from three-point range and 87.9% - No. 11 in the NBA - from the free throw line. In addition, Love leads the league with 33 double-doubles in his 38 games (all starts), including a current streak of 24 straight.
Luc Mbah a Moute (Milwaukee) has started 23 of his 34 games and is averaging 5.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in 25.7 minutes.
Earl Watson (Utah) has played in 36 games and is averaging 2.9 points and 2.7 assists in 14.4 minutes.
Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City) ranks No. 12 in the league in scoring (21.9 points) and No. 9 in assists (8.0). He is one of just three players in the NBA averaging 20.0 points and 8.0 assists (Deron Williams and Derrick Rose are the others). He is also averaging 4.9 rebounds and 1.95 steals (No. 5 in the NBA) and is shooting 87.3% from the free throw line.
