Dec. 9, 2010
Senior swimmer Lauren Hall (Seattle, WA/Holy Names Academy) of the UCLA women's swimming & diving team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 29-Dec. 5.
Hall had a huge meet in Austin at the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational as she competed in five individual events. She started off the meet with a huge swim in the 500 free, where she swam a five-second PR and the No. 8 time in school history, 4:45.68. She was third in the event and also achieved an NCAA B cut time. Hall then doubled back to compete in the 200 IM, where she also finished third with a season-best by nearly two seconds (1:58.50). That time was also an NCAA B cut mark. On Friday, Hall won the 400 IM with a season-best swim by over four seconds (4:09.03). She was just shy of her own school record, and the mark ranks amongst the top 10 in the NCAA this season (also NCAA B cut). She then swam a season-best and NCAA B time of 1:49.15 to finish 19th in the 200 free. On the final day of competition, Hall swam a season-best and NCAA B cut time of 2:13.50 to finish ninth overall in the 200 breast. She was also ninth in the 200 fly with an NCAA B cut time of 1:58.93.
This is Hall's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
