Los Angeles, Calif. - After being named College Soccer News National Player of the Week, junior forward Chandler Hoffman has earned more weekly accolades. Hoffman has been named the Bank of the West Pac-12 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 13-19, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today, and the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week. In addition to those awards, Chandler was named the Soccer America National Player of the Week as well.
The Birmingham, Ala., native produced a hat trick in the second half on Friday to lead the Bruins to a 3-2 come from behind victory over No. 6/9 UC Santa Barbara. It was the fifth-consecutive match that Hoffman scored a goal in, tying a UCLA record held by Joe Max-Moore and Billy Thompson. He also was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week for his performance. Hoffman has scored seven goals in his last six games and leads the Pac-12 in goals (7) and points (14). He is also tied fifth nationally with his seven goals and ninth nationally with his 14 points.
This is Hoffman's second Pac-12 weekly honor and UCLA's 42nd all-time Pac-12 Player of the Week.
The Bruins host Seattle on Friday, Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. PT and SMU on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. PT before opening conference play next week.
