Sophomore forward Reed Williams (Newport Beach, CA/Corona Del Mar HS) of the UCLA men's soccer team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 28-Dec. 4.
Williams made his first goal of the season a big one, scoring the game-winning goal in double overtime at Louisville in the NCAA Quarterfinals to send UCLA to the College Cup for the 13th time in school history. In the 102nd minute, Williams took a pass in the middle of the penalty box from Patrick Matchett and fired a low liner that hit the far post and went in for the golden goal. Moments earlier, Williams, who played in 25 minutes of the contest, had a shot headed for goal that was saved spectacularly by the Louisville goalkeeper.
This is Williams' first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
