The UCLA swimming and diving team had another impressive day in the pool as more Bruins achieved NCAA standards on the second day of competition at the Texas Invitational in Austin. The Bruins tallied five NCAA "B" times, 11 lifetime-bests and 10 season-best performances.
The 800 freestyle relay and senior Madeleine Stanton were the big performers for the Bruins as both swam in the "A" final and achieved NCAA marks. Stanton swam a fast lifetime-best of 54.16 to finish sixth overall, while the relay team of sophomore Alex Sullivan, sophomore Emily Bibb, senior Anna Poteete and sophomore Lauren Hall were third overall with a time of 7:17.03.
Also in the 100 back, senior Isabell Fischer also had a career day as she swam a personal-best and NCAA qualifying time of 54.37, placing 10th overall.
In the 100 breast, sophomore Brittany Beauchan was 10th overall with a season-best 1:03.00. Bibb was 12th in the 200 free with a season-best and NCAA qualifying time of 1:47.86. In the 400 IM, sophomore Dani Milligan posted a season-best and NCAA time of 4:20.32 to place ninth overall.
The 200 medley relay team of Stanton, Beauchan, freshman Yasi Jahanshahi and Poteete finished sixth overall in a time of 1:41.91.
The Bruins will wrap up competition on Sunday at the Texas Invite.
