The fifth-ranked UCLA women's golf team was in 10th place on Tuesday following the second round of competition at the Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The Bruins posted a team score of 307 eight shots better than their opening day total and were 54-over par at 622. They trailed Pepperdine, the second round leader by 28 shots. Arizona State was second at 598 (+30), followed by Florida at 603 (+35). USC was fourth at 606 (+38) and Texas A&M and Arizona were tied for fifth at 608 (+40).
Individually for the Bruins, Hannah Jun continued to stalk the leaders. The UCLA senior carded a four-over par 75 and was tied for sixth place at 148 (+6). Freshman Sydnee Michaels and junior Maiya Tanaka were tied for 45th place at 158 (+16). Michaels posted a 78 (+7) and Tanaka signed for a 76 (+5). Sophomore Tiffany Joh posted a 78 and was tied for 55th at 161 (+19). Sophomore Ryann O'Toole posted an 83 (+12) and was tied for 63rd at 163 (+21).
Playing as an individual, freshman Lalita Boonnoppornkul posted a score of 82 (+11) and was tied for 68th place at 165 (+23).
Pepperdine's Jayvie Agojo held the 36 hole lead at 142 (E) after rounds of 69-73.
