Sophomore Ryann Krais stands in 20th-place after day one of the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, OR.
Krais was 12th overall in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.13, picking up 960 points towards her total in the first event of the day. She then cleared 5-4.25, in the high jump for 771 points (tied for 16th) and finished 21st in the shot put with a throw of 29-7.50 (466 points). Krais ended the day running 26.18 in the 200m for the seventh-fastest time in her heat and 19th overall (781 points).
She ended day one of the heptathlon in 20th-place with a four-event score of 2197. The heptathlon concludes on Thursday with the long jump, javelin and 800m.
Lindsay Rowe (100m hurdles) and the 4x400m relay will compete tomorrow in the semifinal rounds.
