Four former Bruins are playing in the National Pro Fastpitch league this summer. Olympians Andrea Duran and Natasha Watley are playing for the USSSA Pride, while GiOnna DiSalvatore and Amanda Kamekona are playing for the Carolina Diamonds.
Through the first four games of the season (June 7-10), both the Pride and the Diamonds are 1-3. Duran, in her third year with the Pride, is 3-for-13 (.231) to start the year, with a three-hit game against the Chicago Bandits on June 8. Watley, also in her third season with USSSA, is 2-for-8 (.250) with a two-hit performance in that same June 8 contest versus the Bandits.
DiSalvatore is off to a quick start with Carolina. In her second year with the club, she has hits in all four games (5-for-14, .357), including a pair of hits and an RBI in the season opener against the Akron Racers on June 7. Kamekona, in her first season with the Diamonds, has posted hits in each of her two contests, going 2-for-7 (.286).
