UCLA alumnus and volleyball legend Karch Kiraly will be featured in a 30-minute special tonight at 10:30 p.m. (PDT) on FSN following the Angels-Yankees game. The program also will be streamed on avp.com.
Kiraly, widely considered the greatest beach volleyball player in the game, will retire from the AVP Tour after this season following a 27-year professional career that includes three Olympic gold medals and 148 beach titles.
As a collegian Kiraly led the Bruins to three NCAA championships and a record of 124-5, including a pair of undefeated seasons. He was a four-time All-American and all-conference selection, and a two-time Most Outstanding Player at the NCAA Championship.
As a bonus, Kiraly will appear on "Angels Live" -- FSN's pre and post-game shows. He'll also appear in the broadcast booth with announcers Steve Physioc and Rex Hudler.
In other UCLA Volleyball news ... Nick Scheftic and the World University Games team won a bronze medal after defeatng Italy 3-1 in Bangkok, Thailand.
