The Bruins (5-2, 2-2) took the field early this morning and began "padded" work in preparation for Saturday's Pac-12 Conference battle at Arizona State (5-2, 3-1). The game will kick off at 12:05 p.m. PT and be televised on FX.
In some news of the day, junior linebacker Anthony Barr was selected as one of 20 quarterfinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy. Barr leads the team, and ranks tied for eighth in the nation, with 7.5 sacks this season.
Some Bruin notes from the NFL's seventh weekend- Arizona - DL David Carter saw action for the Cardinals; Carolina - PK Justin Medlock booted a couple of extra points, but did not attempt a field goal , Cleveland - LS Christian Yount saw action; Denver - WR Matthew Willis had a bye week Rahim Moore was not in action due to a bye; Indianapolis - LB Justin Hickman saw action for the Colts and recorded a tackle; Jacksonville - RB Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for six yards before leaving the game at Oakland due to injury, TE Marcedes Lewis caught three passes for 20 yards; San Diego - OT Mike Harris had a bye last week; Tennessee - LB Akeem Ayers totaled four stops for the Titans, CB Alterraun Verner added five tackles ; Washington - TE Logan Paulsen caught four passes for 76 yards Kai Forbath kicked three field goals, connecting from 20, 43 and 45 yards ; Minnesota - P Chris Kluwe kicked seven times to a 40.0 yard average ; New England - WR Matthew Slater saw action on special teams for the Patriots.
