LOS ANGELES - UCLA's Pauley Pavilion has been selected to host ESPN's College GameDay Covered by State Farm on Saturday, March 2, 2013, as the Bruins host Arizona in their final regular-season home game.
College GameDay Covered by State Farm is an eight-week Saturday morning and evening college basketball studio program originating from the site of ESPN's Saturday Primetime Presented by DIRECTV telecast. The popular ESPN program will make its second appearance in UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins' iconic home first served as the backdrop to College GameDay on Feb. 2, 2008, when UCLA defeated Arizona, 82-60.
The popular ESPN show returns for its ninth season beginning Saturday, Jan. 19. The first hour begins at 7 a.m. PT (ESPNU) and continues at 8 a.m. PT (ESPN) with a one-hour edition at 5 p.m. PT on ESPN.
UCLA's game against Arizona that evening will begin at 6 p.m. PT and will be televised live on ESPN.
UCLA will open newly-renovated Pauley Pavilion on Friday, Nov. 9, in the team's season-opening game against Indiana State. Pauley Pavilion has served as the team's home arena for 46 seasons (opened in Dec. 1965) before closing in March 2011 for full-scale renovations.
The Bruins played their 18 "home" games off-site last season - 14 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena and four at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
UCLA will return three starters from last season's team that finished 19-14 (11-7 Pac-12). Key returners include juniors David Wear, Travis Wear, Joshua Smith and Tyler Lamb. Additionally, UCLA welcomes the nation's top-ranked recruiting class.
