Swimming & Diving Returns to Competition This Week

Jan. 3, 2012

The UCLA swimming and diving team will return to competition this week as they open up the 2012 portion of their season. Up first is a swimming dual with Boise State on Wednesday at 1:00 pm (Spieker Aquatics Center). The divers will then host Boise State and Nebraska on Saturday at 10:00 am (Spieker Aquatics Center), while the swimmers travel to La Jolla for the San Diego Relays.

The Bruins are 1-2 on the year with a win over UC Santa Barbara and losses to Arizona and Arizona State. UCLA hosted Boise State last season and defeated them 178-116.

The swimmers have tallied 27 NCAA "B" qualifying marks, while two divers, Emma Ivory-Ganja and Paulina Guzman have qualified for the NCAA Zone E Championship. After a layoff from competition in the end of December, the Bruins will be ready to get back in the pool and compete.
