Junior forward Kristina Larsen (Mission Viejo, CA/Mission Viejo HS) of the UCLA women's soccer team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 17-23.
Larsen scored the game-winning goal on Saturday night, helping the top-seeded UCLA women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over fourth-seeded USC in the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament at Drake Stadium. Larsen, who also had both goals in a 2-1 win over the Women of Troy back on Oct. 24, scored the game's only goal in the 13th minute by blocking a USC defender's clearance into the goal. The win avenges a 2-1 loss to USC in the semifinals of last year's NCAA College Cup. Larsen now leads the team with 11 goals on the season, and ranks second on the team in scoring with 26 points. With the win, UCLA remains undefeated on the season at 21-0-2.
This is Larsen's third UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
