LOS ANGELES - The primary infrastructure of the Jack Gifford Hitting Facility, UCLA's new 10,500-square foot practice complex, has neared completion. Construction crews began working behind Jackie Robinson Stadium's right field fence the second week of December.
Completion of the new hitting facility is slated for mid-January 2009, one month prior to the start of UCLA's 2009 baseball season. The Bruins open the season against UC Davis on Feb. 20 at Steele Field at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
